A Modern, Inviting "Front Door"
Asnuntuck Community College - Enfield, CT
Tecton provided master planning services and conceptual designs for Asnuntuck Community College, with the goal of accommodating space programming needs, addressing significant deferred maintenance and updating mechanical systems. The subsequent project created a new Tower Lobby and Student Center to serve as the new “front door” of the College.
An Energy Efficient Design
William J. Johnston Middle School - Colchester, CT
Tecton has been working with the Town of Colchester in support of a new a school since 2013, seeing the project through two studies and a successful budget referendum. This Renovate as New The design retains an existing wing and gymnasium, adds a new two-story wing, and demolishes the more aged facilities.
Embracing the Natural Environment
Huckleberry Hill Elementary School - Brookfield, CT
Following a district-wide Facilities Master Plan, Tecton provided conceptual design options, referendum support and State grant application assistance to the Town for a new Huckleberry Hill Elementary School.
Designing to Respect the Environment
Oxford New Middle School - Oxford, CT
Tecton is currently working with the Town of Oxford to design their new middle school, which will house sixth, seventh, and eighth grades, and will be able to meet an enrollment of 488 students.
A New Vibrant Social Hub for Students
Vernon Social Center, Trinity College - Hartford, CT
Trinity College identified the need for a unifying space to foster a more robust social atmosphere on campus and tagged an underutilized 7,000 SF building as the ideal spot. An extensive renovation was necessary to divide the open area into smaller hubs, though original features like vaulted wood ceilings and a bright Sol LeWitt mural provided a glimpse of the space’s potential.
Re-imagining Social Spaces
Suffield Academy - Suffield, CT
Tecton provided much needed renovations and additions to Suffield Academy's Brewster Hall.
The project expanded and re-imagined the existing dining facility and student center, creating a revitalized hub for socialization on campus.
