Trumpf is a renowned innovator and creator of high-tech laser fabrication machinery, supporting their customers’ fabrication needs across the globe. Working with Trumpf US and its parent company in Stuttgart, Germany, Tecton designed the company’s new Laser Innovation and Technical Excellence (LITE) Center in Farmington, Connecticut. Tecton collaborated with Trumpf’s corporate designer, Barkow Leibinger in Berlin, Germany, and designed zones for research and development, assembly, and final testing. This world-class facility includes a clean room, parts washing area, flexible testing labs, product display space, central data facility, administrative offices and conference rooms. With attention to comfort and energy costs, the design incorporates day lighting in the main assembly hall and provisions were made for future geothermal cooling systems.
